I became interested in advocacy for my peers after struggling with my own mental health. Throughout high school I experienced a severe tes- associated panic disorder as well as mood regulation problems and depression. I recognize how hard it was to deal with my own mental health and I don’t want anyone else to have to feel isolated and struggle alone.

I first got into youth advocacy after returning to school after the pandemic. I noticed that my peers and I were struggling with various personal and educational emotions. When the needs of students were dismissed repeatedly by school administrators, I began to look for outside opportunities that allowed me to promote youth voices on a larger scale.

I was brought to the attention of youth mental health when I noticed myself struggling. I would feel overwhelmed in a school setting because of my overthinking. Making me realize I'm not the only one struggling. I want to help those facing the same issue and or more.

I first became interested in youth mental health when I started struggling after the pandemic with anxiety and ADD. I became aware that it wasn’t just me that was struggling when my sister also started struggling. Seeing her and I deal with mental health in our own different ways on our own  made me want to help others who don’t always know how to reach out. I don’t want anyone to feel unsupported or like there is no way to feel ok again.
