ABOUT US

Our Background

Welcome! Our group started off as a Health and Occupational Students of America (HOSA) campaign for the mental health promotion event. Dedicated to the promotion of youth mental health, we focus on advocating for youth voice, addressing community risk factors through education, and helping showcase helpful resources for youth in our community. 

Our Protective Factors:

  • Community: Prosocial opportunities and recognition of prosocial involvement

  • School: Rewards for prosocial involvement initiated by a school

Our Risk Factors:

  • Perceived risks of harm caused by substance use

  • Favorable attitudes toward substance use from community members and peers

  • School-level stress or traumatic events
